    Australian raingear, Vietnam war period

Post by saltefanden on Wed Jun 26, 2013 3:41 am

    Hi all,

As title implies, I am looking for AUS raingear, the rubberized pieces with a remotely 'pixelized' OD and tan pattern, preferably in large/long sizes, and in good to real good condition.

I have Danish or other European uniforms to trade, but will fork out cold cash if need be.

High hopes and cheers for looking!

hay mate I can help you out I think you are talking about the  "psychological smock" as shown , this is one made in 68 and has been used but good condition, they don't grown on trees either they are fairly hard to find this old they made them up to early 80's I think but this one is Vietnam period, small discoloration as you can see, still has clear tags too

I have the matching bush hat, unused.

With the smocks, I've seen them only with two dates:

a.) 1967 made by Pennisi and characterised by the gloss black buttons

b.) 1971(?) using the standard GI type matt OD 'discus' buttons

I have examples of both but tucked deep under the morass

That is exactly the ones I'm after, and thank you for your quick response!

Dr. Duncan, thank you for your kind and swift offer and the coat looks good, though sadly the discoloration is a bit of an issue, me being very anal about condition, sorry Very Happy
Cheers for taking the time to even include a Photo!

Filupe, I would be very interested in either 'vintage', again as long as condition is good and size on the large side. I will be hard pressed to trade you anything, you haven't already got What a Face
    PM me for further negotiations!

--Did you get this sorted with Filupe?

If not, I have this one...

And, I'd be happy to see it go somewhere it was wanted. The only problem with it is the fellow's name being inscribed in it. Otherwise, it is pristine.

Well, I got one jacket, though not through filupe, who was very helpful (cheers), but I may 'need' another one, as I am a collector Very Happy
