ISRAELI M1 HELMET with HOMEMADE NET from YOM KIPPUR WAR time period

Here is a helmet I won in July of 2006 for $19.99. It is an Israeli airborne or ground force helmet..(apparently both wore the same helmets) It is based on the M1...but has some changes made...like the 3 point chin strap. the shell & liner are in almost NEW condition. It does have a newer US nape strap dated 1974 (shortly after the YOM KIPPUR WAR)....it is possible that the US supplied Israel with these...as I have seen several with US straps...but the liner is IDF marked. The camouflage cover is field expedient....and resembles the typical MITZNEFET that you see on today's IDF forces, which began using them in 2006(see pic below)

Very cool lid....I've only ever seen pics of these, but I would be pleased to have this one in my collection ,thanks for sharing this Lid...great for reference purposes

one of the guys I know was in the IDF Reserves, very freaking cool man. I think you need the Israeli Rifle grenade adapter I have up for sale

YES, the Israelis also used US supplied shells & liners, Ive seen several with US made liners or headbands with the Israeli soldier's name written in Hebrew

they also used surplus US M1 shells and modified them for the 3 point paratrooper style straps

Ive seen some where you can clearly see where they ground off the old ones and welded the modified ones to take their para strap

I also saw an old WWII fixed bale US M1 that they used and they just added a swivel bale at the rear and used the existing fixed bale and taped or tied the strap on the fixed bales
