Absolutely and definitely not Portuguese. Zero doubt about that. The pattern looks different for starters, but the cut of the Portuguese stuff is entirely different. No, this stuff is Middle Eastern for sure. The three places to concentrate on are:
Bahrain
Oman
Qatar
All three of these countries used 4 color DPM desert over a fairly long period of time. The documentation of their use is poor and I'm sure there are quite a few variations over time. Note that there's quite a variation of the uniforms in these pictures. They are also in the US DCU/BDU cut and not British, however that could have changed over the years.
There are no doubt a few other countries that used it for periods of time.
The bugger of it is usually the countries have either their own distinctive coloration or distinctive cut. This one is in British cut, which knocks some countries off the suspect list.
