'80s Para M29

Had to go Down Under for this one.. Had been looking for one of these in nice shape for many years, but never could find  a really clean set.

I have a spare set of the trousers that I wear around when building and other carpentry.  I found the cloth is really comfortable and the knee pads are nice too.  Oh, and a cellphone fits really nice in the lower leg bandage pocket

A long time ago, 10 years or so?, Sportsmans Guide had these and they were marked as used.  I ordered 2 sets and found that one top and one bottom (not from the same bag) were unissued.  So I rolled the dice and ordered another set and it was also unissued.  So I wound up with two different color variants unissued for damned next to nothing.  Their mistake was definitely my gain.  I wish they would do that more often!

In fact... I seem to remember that I bought some additional sets for trading partners. For all I know the one you got from Martin came via me. Now that would be funny!

The set would have bounced from continent to continent for years.
Cant believe I missed the Sportsman's Guide bonanza back then, but miss it I did..


Don't see many of these anymore, and in these conditions.....never..

Funny that the collar Savoy Stars are missing.

The stars are often missing. I think the new ones didn't come with them but had to be hand stitched on.

Yeah, they don't come up for sale very often any more. I see an occasional top or bottom on European eBay, but usually not new condition.

Kind of funny, I am on vacation in Japan right now, and one if the shops here has one for ¥8000 (with exchange, less than $80). It even comes with the helmet cover, in mint condition. Size us too big for me, 4, I think. Anyone want me to pick it up as a souvenir?

Recently found this ( size 4 ) para uniform ..  It arrived from Italy a few days ago..

The patch represents an old infantry unit , the 87th Lupi di Toscana ( Wolves of Tuscany).
