Help with badges! Empty Help with badges!

Post by CollectinSteve Fri Nov 06, 2015 2:55 am

I found this shirt that I've been meaning to finish for a long time.  It has three badges that I need to know what to do with.  Two are qualification badges that go over the left breast pocket, however I do not know which goes on the left and which on the right sides.  The third badge appears to be a unit badge.  I do not know what it is or where it should go.

    Thanks!

    Steve

For the badges, left one is marksman qualification badge and the righ one is commando course badge. The positions don't important. Traditionally, the badges start from the left side and goes to the right side. So you put letf side the badge that you received first....

The tird badge is a major rank insignia of the ground personnal of Turkish Air Force. However It's using center side of the the new style uniforms that introduced almost a year ago. Not for the old style uniform like your photo...

Great! I assumed there was a definite order for the badges. That is the way most nations do it as far as I know. OK, I'll put the marksmans badge first and then the Commando badge.

I've had the Major's rank for probably 3 years now. Maybe 4. I notice the shape is different than the one from your picture. Perhaps it is an early trial type?

You have reminded me that I do not have the new type uniform. I do not know how easy it is for you to get the new uniforms, but if you are interested in a trade please PM me. Just let me know what you are interested in.

    Thanks!!

Well it could be but there is not a standard shape for all of the officer ranks, for ex. general ranks are also shaped in square badge on the same uniforms. So they have three different badge shapes for  lieutenant, major and senior class officers...

For the new type uniforms there is superly hard to get one, because all of the civilian produces and army maintenance bases are too busy with producing them for the armed forces personnal. But i also have a friend wo is owner of an company that produces custom and specialized equipment for the elite units and special forces ofthe armed forces offered me to sell one of these in 400 TRY (Almost 200 USD) . I didn't want to buy it beacuse it looks so expensive to me for a "local-made" uniform. But for you I could maybe speak to him again...
