What do you think the PALS row on the harness side between the straps are for?

You can mount pouches there.I would guess the ETH pouch or maybe the waterbottle pouch.Those rows can be covered up by the interchangable side pockets off the bergen or the zip on hydration bladder pouch.

I was referring to the harness worn on the back, shoulders straps etc, in brown. Does the entire harness come off including the verticle pads?

Would anybody know what the two little tabs on the bottom rear of the daysack are for?It's driving me mad.

Going off the two buckles on the inside of the base of the shoulder straps that I presume are for a waist belt I would hazard the two little tabs at the base are securing points for the back rest part of the waist belt to stop it sliding about maybe.
