Interesting. Another example of the shift away from looking like vegetation, and more like a pile of dirt.
Makes sense, I suppose. Vegetation is not universal, and will stick out when it's not matched to the local fauna. Dirt is everywhere, and generally goes with everything. This is why most animals sport the color of dirt, only some insects that live exclusively among the leaves have evolved to blend in with the plants.
