Are these worth to buy ?

Hi Mates , i still can't find the DPDU windstopper in size Small from many years ago , and Hong Kong is very cold currently , so i am thinking to buy this jacket and smock from Platatac , do you think it's worth to buy ? does anyone have that and give some comment ?

and the matter for me is , They still have size Small instock ~

The Snugpak looks good. DPDU material is very tightly controlled by the govt. Plat-a-tac initially had to come up with their own version of DPDU (similar to 2nd patt) in order to sell their garments. I don't know whether their Series II smocks are still made in this 'commercial' DPDU.

I have no doubt that some of these would have made their way overseas initially as private purchase items , but now it seems that the ADF Quartermaster system has caught up and developed its own line of effective cold weather gear.

i just know Platatac DPDU series 2 smock did used by SF in Afghanistan in 2002-03, but i don't know is there any different with the one they are selling on website (material ??)

I have the smock and the material is thin. Is it waterproof? No, it's water resistant at best and water would eventually seep in. In my opinion if Plat offers this jacket at less than $100 then I'd say I'd have a go.

thanks for your comment , ye , believe in you , wait for more discount. Does it have NSN on tag ? cause i saw many SF wear that in 2002-3 , thinking was that issued by ADF.

No NSN number on tag. When this jacket first came out it was the "only" jacket in DPDU colors so I guess the soldiers got it.

I'll post the pics of my jacket tomorrow.
