Not sure if I posted this one here yet. I found it a while ago from a fellow who used to work at CFB Suffield in southern Alberta where the British army still trains. Has an interesting camo pattern on it and what I believe is a British Guards flash. Anyone seen this kind of camo pattern on a Mk.V before?

Re: Camo Mk.V Helmet
Nice, not seen one like that, normally Mk5's are heavily camouflaged with scrim n stuff, maybe done by the guy who wore it especially for BATUS, but I dunno, looks good though.

Re: Camo Mk.V Helmet
i had one of these as a kid from a flea market. mine had a dpm t-shirt cut to make a helmet cover, nylon mesh over with strips of sandbag tied to it like. As a 10 year old kid it was the dogs danglers !!!

Nice helmet indeed.
B2Z, that is pretty kickass for a 10-year-old kid!

Re: Camo Mk.V Helmet
the only issue i had was the chin strap was elasticated and when you ran with it on it use to bounce up and down, the 'lift the dot' in the center of the helmet use to dig into your skull

Re: Camo Mk.V Helmet
I rember being issued mine in basic training in the mid 80's and our section cpl giving us green and brown hessian sand bags to scrim em up, the problem I found with the Mk5 was if the liner wasnt a perfect fit it bounced up and down and the snap fastener dug in the top of your head I put a peice of foam from a 2in mortar round canister over the lift the dot fastener and that stoped that, but I found if I turned my head quickly the elesticated strap allowed my head to turn and the helmet to remain stationary that could be quite entertaining when it happened to one of your mates, I heard there was a modified 3 point chinstrap to stableise the helmet but I never saw it and the Mk5 was withdrawn when Mk6 was introduced wich was an improvment if not perfect.
