The jacket isn't DPDU but appears to be US 'Coffee Stain'. I'd say a private purchase item, either by individual or through unit funds. It doesn't look like standard US issue either ...

Is it possible that these guys are from the Australian SAS Regt? Given the mix & match of patterns, (which has been commonly seen among many SF units during GWoT) that'd be my guess...

This is the "final"version after many test jackets.
Problem with this one is the large collar .So this one is already a goner.

In the test there ar 4 versions. One is the version on the pictures above.
The smocks are labeld 1 to 4 and with the word test /trial.

See the how to use it manual .The smock must be over the Bullit proof vest!!! Nice when you have the modular on with the amo on it.,

I am the owner of the DCU pattern "SAS" smock Steve looked at today. I'll post photos ASAP, but mine has a BRIT white matt cotton makers tag. Made by lava designs. LAV 8415-99-2001-02 Size 180 -104. Made in lightweight "SAS" cotton ventile material, with brown Canadian style buttons exactly like a UK desert smock.
    Standby for photos.

It looks different from smock in the photos. The smock in photos has zipper closure pockets on sleeve instead of buttons.

I collect (amongst other oddities), windproof smocks. I stumbled across this one listed by a seller near Ft.Bragg. As you all probably know, a lot of cool 'gucci' Spec Ops kit is bought, tested and sold by the 'black ops' types who operate from that huge base. This DCU camo patt is identical in every detail to the current desert DPM 'SAS' windproof being used in various sandboxes. I'd love to find a matching pair of 'ventile' DCU windproof trousers..... cheers

I have a suit in this print. It's US desert but smaller like ERDL is to Woodland if you look close to it. My suit has the same tags in typical British fashion. My suit is made from the cheese cloth or tea bag tropical airtex. It's cut somewhere between US and British design. It's a US M81 but look more close and it has draw cords in the jacket, the trousers have button belt loops.

The jacket/shirt has also velco triangles and other shapes on it ready for badges.
