Iraqi Security Forces helmet

Brought this back from my tour as a Combat Advisor, embedded with the then Iraqi Special Police Commandos. Known today as the National Police. I was a member of the first advisor team to work with this organization. And it was one off the very first to be stood up, under the auspices of the MoI. It was the 1st Battalion, 1 Brigade, 1st SPCDO ( Special Police Commando) Division back then. My team was known as 1-1 SPTT ( Special Police Transition Team), commonly prounounced... One One Spit! LoL

Anywho, the first helmets these guys were given were these "Kpot" clones. Made of plastic! Not much more than a toy really...

Afraid not. It was what they were first issued. Just like the earlier helmets, such as the one I brought back from GW1, they were made of plastic. The concept of helmets, for most, was purely for the martial look and not so much the ballistic protection.

Nice one.....really like the camo look on this ,kind of reminds me of the the early experimental PASGTs,with the camo patterning......pity they never made it into the mainstream supply route.....but what's more of a pity...is the guy who had to wear a lid,with no ballistic protection....jeez, talk about cost cutting Cool
