    Bukowski's coat Empty Bukowski's coat

Post by joni firpo Fri Dec 17, 2010 3:42 pm

Seen the movie "Hair" many times, but just recently noted what a curious field jacket is "Bukowski" (Berger) wearing in the final stage:

There are no epaulettes on his jacket! If it was a regular M65 jacket, there should be epaulettes on the shoulders aren't they? Just as on the other soldiers. Was it maybe a "movie-coat" for Treat Williams specially? Or?

Another interesting detail, check the boarding-scene and it is clearly seen the many different finishes of the M1 helmets.

Really? But why? The previous model (M51 coat) did have epaulettes as I know? Could you send me a picture or a link of such an early coat? Quite interesting! Thanks for the info!

Thanks for the information! I've never heard of "epaulett-less" M65 jackets (except the commercial ACU M65's made in the recent years)! Very interesting.

A lot of the aviation guys used to cut the epauletts off too.. I have a couple somewhere around here like that. Inversly, I have a couple jungle jackets that they have been added to!!
