    I figure not many people will have the chance to get to Ulm, Germany to see Rommel's grave so I'll share my pictures from when I paid my respects in 2006.

    WOW...Swag...that is awesome....Of all the generals in WWII, Rommel is my most favorite one.....I have read several biographies....and he seemed to be genuinely concerned for his men & family & I have upmost respect for him. So THANKS for sharing these photos.

    It was quite a "moment" for me to actually be there. Me and my buddy rode our bikes (motorcycles not pedal bikes, supermen we ain't) about 3 hours one way just visit. It was well worth the ride.

    As an armor freak, I got to say I respect Rommel... I just can't keep from wondering how much American's he helped kill Crying or Very sad.

    Been to Ülm many times, mostly on business. Never managed to get to that cemetary.
    Maby next trip. There are several cemetaries, including the Invalidin Cemetary in Berlin, that I should go visit.

    Great pictures, thanks for sharing them. One thing I wonder though is I notice the Iron Crosses are all in the Imperial style, i.e. no swastika on them as would have been common when he died. I wonder if it was always like this or changed for obvious reasons when the war ended.

    The crosses you see are actueally the Knights cross with oak leaves crossed sowrd and diamonds and the imperian Pour Le Merite. (Nazi Germanys higest award and Imperial Germanys highest)
