These are some of my last remaining items from when I used to collect. Thought I'd show them before they disappeared. Nothing special but some of the first items I bought many years ago.

Re: Soviet Airborne Items
Very cool. What are the knives for, I have never seen anything like them. I take it there to cut a line or something if they get stuck?

Re: Soviet Airborne Items
That's exactly what they're for. They're Soviet era (don't know if they still use them or not) parachutist knives. Dull, rounded tip to get under straps. And by dull I mean you can ride uptown and back on it and not even crease your ass. Serated on both sides to make it adrenaline proof while trying to get out of the rig. From what I was told, the two small holes on each side of the plastic sheath were to do a simple sew job onto the uniform/equipment. There is a chicken-like image which is the factory symbol. Was told that a lot of these were never turned in at the end of service because they make good kitchen knives (or it makes for a good story).

Re: Soviet Airborne Items
I love those Stroporez knives but price is still too much for me as my customs would make it triple.

Re: Soviet Airborne Items
Had one of those knives and are quite nice. I'd also gotten a few of the small rectangular springblade static line knives they used during afghanistan.
