    I found this at a pawn shop in town.I think it is real but my dad does not because of how good of shape it is in.It had a littel bit of red mud on it,but that came right out.

    It's real, but probably used post-war. The 101st used color patches during the Vietnam war. The commanding general would not authorise the use of the subdued patch. Subdued 101st patches were made in country and are not the PX/issue type as shown here. There aren't even early twill ones. I'm lost on the 5th pattern tho.. I thought there were only 3. 4 if you count the change from poplin to rip-stop.

    I'd never heard of five. Stanton didn't mention it in his book either. The site may be wrong tho as it also said that 5th model were made in rip-stop and I have a poplin one for sale that doesn't have sleeve gussets. That seems to be the only difference. It's not unusual to find jungles in good condition. I picked one up last year with theatre made insignia that was almost mint. Got several out of the shipping box a few years ago. They still turn up in the thrift shops here too..
