Improved Northern Ireland Body Armour.

Believed to be an early version due to the cotton labels-later versions labels were a nylon type of material and had instructions for wear/use of the vest as these were meant to be worn UNDER a combat jacket/smock and the early vests were sometimes mistakenly worn OVER a jacket/smock by some squaddies

Anybody know what type of plates were used with these vests as the CBA ones will not fint into the front and rear pockets.

Still after any info or a source please of suitable plates.

Have seen various plates on Ebay but without knowing exactly what type to look for dont want to be buying expensive plates that dont fit

I Can check probably on next week if modern plates (green) will fit.

I have a CBA with plates and they will NOT fit the INIBA vest.

I found 2 of these at a range on top of Black mountain along with 2 SLR mags fully loaded when I was a kid in the mid 80s !

I bet some one got the book thrown at them for that.

At LAST a vest with the 2 plates.

Now just need to get rid of the 3 vests I have bought over the years that came with no plates.

nice find, very rare to find one with the plates .

Very pleased as have been trying with no luck to find a complete one now for a good few years.
