    Hello,

Did not post too much on this forum and I may apology.

Here is the last grouping related to Operation Herrick 10 that I purchased from a veteran of the Welsh Guards.

In the Spring of 2009, the 1st Battalion Welsh Guards which was part of the 19th Light Brigade did participate at the Operation's Panther Claw in Helmand province in southern Afghanistan. It aimed to secure various canal and river crossings to establish a permanent ISAF presence in the area.

If you want to see something in detail, please let me know.

May well have been a couple of lads from my town involved in that operation-any names on any of the items other than maybe the usual Welsh surnames-JONES,WILLIAMS,ROBERTS ETC?

    Great items there.

    Heelo,

I am still in contact with the owner who getting out the Guards after Afghanistan. It was belonging to Guardsman Whitefoot.

Concerning the other question, since 2002, Operation Herrick is the british codename for operations in Afghanistan.

    Hi Gary,

I just purchased the book from Toby Harnden "Dead Men Risen' The Welsh Guards & the Real story of Britain's War in Afghanistan and this 608 pages brick is full of information and contains the personnel list of this Welsh Guards deployement. First information, Guardsman Whitefoot was belonging to the Headquarters company.

In short, the Welsh Guards task force was composed of the Prince & Wales Company, the 2nd & 3rd Companies and the IX & X companies.

I found two pictures with the tee-shirt worned. One by a Guardsman of the 2 Coy and the other by the Chaplain (HQ Company). I really don't know if there was a Tee-shirt by company or one adopted by the others, but Guardsman Whitefoot used this one.
