Ukraine (Armenian) winter uniform, M88 cut

Hey,

I wanted to share this uniform with you, most likely made in the Ukraine for MAYBE Armenian armed forces.

You hear, I don't know where this exactly is from, but thats what the previous owner told me.

As for the previous owner, I got this set from Crna Strela, who I wanted to thank again for giving me the chance of getting such an awesome winter uniform!



The inner liner of the pants is made out of VSR-colored fabric, if you wish I can take a picture, but Crna Strela maybe still has his picture.

Carey Schofield’s book, “Inside the Soviet Army” has the following photo of Soviet Mountain troops during training.

The soldier on the left appears to be wearing the same camo pattern as your uniform

Yes, this uniform’s camo pattern looks to be Soviet - based on the photo in Carey Schofield’s book.

But, your winter uniform was produced in the Ukraine by the elephant factory.

Here is a summer uniform with the same camo pattern that was also made in the Ukraine.


I think that this summer uniform was made for export. The uniform just has a cardboard tag with the manufacturing information. The uniform itself has no markings except for a size tag.

where did you find the pictures of this summer set?

Or is it a part of your collection?

It seems to be brand new, unissued, I wonder where it came from.

Also, do you maybe have a picture of the pants? I would like to see the full set.

My winter set is missing the original inner jacket liner, it now has a modern Ukrainian one, hence the furry grey collar. I don't think I'll ever find a matching liner.

I really want to find more summer sets in interesting camos, but I keep finding only winter sets.

thank you for the additional pictures, that was indeed a beautiful set!

May I ask where it is now?

And about "my" set, that lightens up the whole situation!
So you are the collector Filipo got this set from, that's interesting.
I think it is nice to see that it stayed in collectors hands in the past, so the past owners didn't treat it like a piece of ordinary cloth.

Can you tell me anything about the original inner liner of the jacket?
Did you own the complete set, or was is it missing the original liner already?

And can you say something about the pants' inner liner? Are there more "camouflaged" liners?
I would really love to own the matching jacket liner in this light VSR color, this would possibly be on of the most interesting liners out there.

Again, I really appreciate you for sharing your knowledge about this pattern/uniform, I really like this forum!

...and, to complete the circle, Erick was the first owner of the winter set and he sold it to me almost 2 years ago ...unfortunately I had to sell it as well, due to my finance crisis

Hi Kolja.

That liner with the grey fir collar was with the suit when I bought it. This is the first winter set that I have seen that has a camo liner (on the pants).

I sold the summer set and cannot find anything in my records as to who bought it. Sorry.

That's too bad about the jacket, but anyway, it has the nice liner for the trousers.

I'll keep my eyes open for a matching liner, maybe that day will come!
