I have this reflective arm band, never saw one before I stumbled across it and when looking at the label the NSN reads 'NIV'. What is this 'NIV' the label speaks of? Any ideas chaps?

NIV stands for Not In Vocabulary, Vocabulary being VAOS - Vocabulary of Army Ordnance Stores.
VAOS hasn't been used for decades , but NIV is still used for Non Codified Items (not given a NATO Stock Number)or stores that cannot be identified.
Look like your arm band wasn,t codified for whatever reason.
