Nice! I haven't seen one like this before. Note, however, that this is their standard summer issue colors, not urban. Brown digital is winter issue.

I came across this website that called this pattern urban camo. But, you're probably right.

As far as I know the guy on the Airsoft forum you linked to is technically correct. However...
The "Urban" colors, which has a grayish base, appears to be the standard PLA uniform. I've got plenty of pictures of them in the field with this uniform, as well as on parade and for barracks use. I have yet to see a picture of the "Woodland" type in use or one for sale. This includes the trials period when they tested out a different cut in ripstop. The only evidence of the "Woodland" type I've ever seen is in the drawing that the Airsoft guy posted (this was widely circulated by the PLA). Also, my contact at a factory that makes uniforms for the PLA calls the green/gray style "Summer", the brown type "Winter", and the blue type "Marines".
Based on this information I would say that the PLA decided against having 4 uniforms very early on and changed their strategy to be 3 uniforms.

Hello Steve
I am in disagreement
PLA used always the 4 colors variant
The green variant is used by the strategic artillery
+ a new variant for paratrooper

Any idea who the white guy in the pic is? His set looks like this Kazakh thing I almost bought awhile back but not sure. Also would you happen to know what the rank on those boards in your first picture is?

He is a Russian military member and the pattern is called flora, although the uniform style is one I've not seen before. Not sure of the story behind the photo, but it was most likely taken during a joint training exercise.APreston wrote:Any idea who the white guy in the pic is? Very neat pattern... almost like a blue-tinted flecktarn. And, as it's a blue camo pattern, I want a set!

I am going to laugh when digital becomes out dated because the PLA will have to make a new 125 plus camo patterens

I don't believe it 125 species camoflage patterns. Not possible. PLA have changed the theory now. They create and design the camoflage pattern which adapt all nationwide landscape. Like woodlands camoflage all across north and south regions woodlands they can apply for. They think big and cost saving than before. The Chinese camoflage pattern is fewer.

You know the last ten or twenty years China developed and also borrow the experience from foreign countries. China has many PLA factories they have production lines to manufacture many countries's combat uniforms. Somehow they have experience and become mature now. Commonly used camoflage pattern is four but still more.
