Beret Problems

Hello everyone,

I have a tricky issue here and hope someone can help me out. I have a couple of black wool military berets that have rust on the aluminum airholes along the side of the beret. The reason being its so difficult is because I cant clean it off woth any chemical cleaner because it will eat the wool and I cant use the vinegar or lemon juice because it wil leave an odour. These berets I prefer not to wash them but I really need some advice! ANY!

Have you tried gently cleaning with fine wire wool

Thank you, I haven't tried that, and I will go out now to buy them. Also if you guys don't mind any other tips will be amazing just incase this doesn't work. Again thanks for your advice!!
