The CCU (Close Combat Uniform) Empty The CCU (Close Combat Uniform)

    Post by bond007a1 Tue Apr 14, 2009 5:33 pm

Ok...From all intents & purposes alot of collectors are NOT aware of the CCU & what they are..

UNFORTUNATELY....BECAUSE OF THREATS OF ANOTHER FORUM...WE...OURSELVES...NO LONGER HAVE ANY CLUE WHAT THE CCU IS...lol!

They were also made in a woodland, 'scorpion" or multicam & a urban track type (I do not have photos of these)

The average price for these is $125 all the way up to $2,200. Generally they are between $125-500. So if you find one cheaper...by all means buy the thing & hang onto it for dear life.... ALSO the 1st contract apparently had more issued than the 2nd contract, so the 1st contract will be cheaper & easier to locate.

    Steven

IF ANYONE has any additional info or photos PLEASE POST THEM & SHARE THE WEALTH of knowledge...

Are there any differences between the two production runs? I didn't know the second run was called something slightly different. Odd! Now I have to check my sets and see if they are all the 2003 or the 2004 production.

    Thanks!

Sweet! I never knew there were two versions. Lots and lots of significant changes there. I suspect I have all 04 production Combat Uniform models, but I'm definitely going to check when I get home.

Not surprisingly, the non 3 Color Desert versions appear to all be 03 CCU production. Makes perfect sense.

Jeebus, but that is one hideously hideous cammo pattern. Reminds me of the weird patterns that pop up from Africa, or Asia every now and then. Also reminds me of a kids pajamas! Thank god that didn't go anywhere.

It still amazes me how many of the Iraq issued CCUs keep turning up. Of course you are in the right place to be finding these in thrift shops Very Happy

Good luck finding a used nametape to fit. It's like the air crew uniforms... pockets are just a little bit wider than BDU, which means the piles of used nametapes generally don't work.

Shocked I wish they cost this much!

You could buy something similar: Three Color desert in ACU cut. Commerical piece but looks similar.
