Landed in country and made my way into the accomodation and the rooms were full of British desert dpm - windproof smocks and matching trousers, j hats, shirts and trousers and UBACS! all brand new, it seems when the British changed over to MTP they gave their remaining stocks of desert in Afghan to us kiwis.

Thanks for the fun fact! An Estonian contact told me that they wore the British DPM under armor shirts. I'm now guessing it's part of the same deal you Kiwis got in on.

Yes in time for the fighting season, yes we seemed to get a hoard of Brit stuff, the UBACS are worth there weight!

Yeah Brit desert gear is worth nothing surplus wise here in England, I honestly mean nothing. The smocks sell for less than £5 which I guess they cost more than that to make. I bought a fully badged suit jacket and pants for decorating work coveralls for 99p.

what the fighting season like in bayman?, i know its one of the less dangerous places and i have seen uruzghan for the fighting season?a little of kandahar and zabul for a bit, but we dont here much from the kiwis
