USMC sateen shirt ??

Can anyone tell me if this is a genuine USMC sateen shirt ? It has the USMC emblem on the chest pocket but anyone could have done that at any time. It's sateen so i'm assuming the 1960's. I've never seen one like this before. 4 button front with hidden buttons. Has 2 chest pockets and under the left breast it has a huge hidden access pocket. It is sized as a 42 but fits my 46" chest which is unusual for a shirt - even a fatigue one.

Any ideas as to period, authenticity etc would be gratefully received. I want to put it on ebay but want to describe it accurately. A ballpark value would be handy too if possible. I'm not expecting megabucks !

It's from the late 50's/early 60's. It's a good one.. These were nicknamed "Gomer Pyles" aftdr the tv show. It's the type he wears in it. I have one in hbt and another with an in-country made nameplate. they aren't overly valuable, but they don't show up often. Maybe $20 tops.

I saw on one ebay going for £79 ! If it's only $20 then i may as well use it myself for painting the house

Gomer Pyle M1956 or M1958 from memory.

Shirts cheap enough,trs expensive.
