Re: jigsaw jacket hood
These were all made (OK, almost all made) in 1958. I've seen plenty of Jigsaw, M&B, and Brushstroke hoods and I'm pretty sure I've never seen a label or stamp on any of them.

Re: jigsaw jacket hood
Very nice James, and yeah it would make an excellent helmet cover, sounds like a great project, I look forward to seeing the results.
I don't think my hood has any markings as Steve said, I will check mine out though

Re: jigsaw jacket hood
No problem. Note that the Belgians used the 1950s stuff all the way through the 1990s until it was officially banned from use. I do not know if converting hoods to helmet covers was a standard practice or not.

That is a very good point Steve, maybe it's an urban myth that the Belgium forces used these as helmet covers, but I'm not a 100% sure I've ever seen any period pics of them in use
Either way it would make sense to use the hoods as lid covers the French did amongst may other nations!!!

Re: jigsaw jacket hood
The British sometimes used 68 Patt DPM hoods as makeshift covers when only a net was on issue.
