Quirky looking coat due to the strange moleskin type look and feel and the Barbour country gent type corduroy collar.

Not sure what those wings are-West German??? and why they are on there-maybe used to cover up the hole under them?

Nice Canadian winter combat jacket. The material is called 'Quarpel'. I have the jacket and the trousers too in the same material. They were discontinued long before the jacket were. Hardest wearing material known to man !

    Thanks Dave.

Pretty sure somewhere amongst all my junk(seriously need to cut down on buying this crap)I have a pair of unissued Trs in the same material and also a similar jacket but from memory has a much lighter coloured collar?

Probably wrong but always thought that Quarpel was a waterproofing treatment given to material and not a name for the material itself-probably wrong though Crying or Very sad

You may well be right and I wrong but I only ever heard them referred to as 'Quarpel' trousers.

Incredibly hard wearing cloth either way. I like the 'Robin Hood ' hat too Very Happy
