US Navy White Tunic+Trs CVE 76

I know absolutely nothing about this uniform other than somebody told me its more than likely from WW2?


Label inside the jkt is too faded to read and cannot find anything on/in the trs other than the details written.

with that tag most likely 1970's - 1980's.

Thanks,have no idea at all about USN stuff,only did a quick Google search of CVE 76 and came up with a WW2 Carrier.

Been given this info--

An 8-button front is VERY WW2.

Richard F. Gaal, 69, of 1102 W. Broad St., Emmaus, a news photographer and civic leader, died Saturday in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of the late Kathryn E. (Stocker) Gaal.

For the past 30 years, he was an employee of Exide Batteries, Allentown, and a photographer for the East Penn Press and former Emmaus Free Press.

Born in Emmaus, he was a son of the late John and Mary (Neubauer) Gaal.

He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Emmaus.

Gaal was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the South Pacific.

He was a 32nd degree Mason with Emmaus Lodge 792, F&AM, and the Lehigh Consistory, both Scottish and York Rites, and a Shriner with Rajah Temple, Reading.

He was chairman of the Halloween Window Painting Committee in Emmaus for 20 years; a volunteer for the Emmaus Ambulance Corps, and a recipient of the borough's Citizen's Award.

Gaal was a two-time recipient of the Freedom's Foundation Award of Valley Forge.

Survivors: Daughters, Kathryn S. Getchell of Allentown and Mary A. of Emmaus; brothers, Raymond G., his twin, and Harold, both of Emmaus, and Walter J. of Trexlertown, and sisters, Margaret Althouse and Martha T., wife of Bennett H. Gerhart, both of Emmaus.
