No idea Gary, just going with what was written on the little note that came with the patches---
1ER BEP or 1REP 1st Regiment of Parachutists-EXTREMELY RARE.
This was the night of the generals/the regiment was disbanded by Degaulle after the attempted coup on Paris. Condemned after this and relegated to Infantry status.
No idea myself to be honest.

Even cooler Mate, I love anything that requires further study, specially French items, please show more if you get the chance

You were right in that they were disbanded after the 'putsch' but not relegated to infantry status. As the French say 'C'est fini' They ceased to exist, gone ... as in the parrot sketch!
I'm unsure that your insignia are BEP/REP or even foreign legion at all ... I am only familiar with the green on black lozenge with flaming bomb centre which I thought was generic to all legion units. I could be wrong, and will refer to more specialised references when I get home.

Had a squiz through my references:
Paras Francais Algerie 1954-1962
Paras Francais Indochine 1945-1954
La Legion Etrangere en Indochine 1946-1956
Unfortunately I'm certain your lozenge has nothing to do with the Foreign Legion, the closest I could find was a tri-bordered red on green lozenge with '2' in the centre as opposed to '1' - '2e compagnie de livraison par air' which translates to 2nd Air Freight Company or in military terms, Air Despatch.
