Got this hat from a buddy of mine. He said he got it from a Ukrainian soldier when he was in Europe. If its not Ukrainian please move to the appropriate place.

It's early Ukrainian winter uniform hat. Generally, this is officer's hat - it is made of genuine sheep fur. Badge as early Ukrainian - metal. All modern are plastics. Most likely, the hat did not belong to the ordinary soldier - they have caps of artificial fur. This hat belonged to sergeant (or other junior commanders, not officers).
It would be nice to see the hat from the inside. To identify such hats always look for a stamp inside.
