I've been trying to come up with a sizing chart for the Mk6 for the last couple of months and it appears that my Google-fu is not up to the task. I did a search here and out of 15 pages of hits also failed. Is there a difinitive sizing chart for the Mk6? I've seen lots of discussion on hat size vs helemt size but none seem to agree so I can't even compile a guesstimate list. Does anyone here possess this information?

Re: Mk6 Helmet sizing chart
As far as I know they were available in small ,medium, large,X large.
There is a certain degree of adjustment, with these lids.
I was issued with a size Medium, and my head circumferance is 55 cm.
I did have a manual which was issued with my lid,but that's long gone I'm afraid.
Hope this helps in some way?

Re: Mk6 Helmet sizing chart
Not that I have worn one during actual service but am guilty like I guess a few collectors of trying various helmets on when they are new additions and have found them quite un adjustable to be honest and not found one a decent fit-have had both a medium and large fit(hat/helmet size 58) but found the large a nicer fit as there was a bit of room spare.
Not sure if Gary when he said X Large was thinking of the GIGANTIC Outsize ones that they made in I believe limited quantities for squaddies with huge sized melons

Let's face it they are a horrible fit, I stuffed some sponge up behind the leather padding to "custom" fit fore and aft, the sides always felt like they were too wide no matter what, there is the nylon pull adjusters to make it as comfy as poss, they never worked, but from that point of view there was a certain degree of adjustment!
In fact it wasn't until I tried on a well used size small that I realised that it was the better fit, I recall some bollox advice about "ya,ead swells up,so better to ave a bigga 'un to begin with"...as I said bollox advice!

Re: Mk6 Helmet sizing chart
Oh yes I know that the "sizes" are listed small through to planetary but I can't find a single chart that says what intended head sizes these are suppoesd to equate to. Someone, somewhere surely said something like a small shall fit head sizes between x and y at some point?!

Re: Mk6 Helmet sizing chart
I dont have one but when newly issued the MK6 and think 6A came with some form of instruction card/leaflet with instructions on fitting/wearing etc-wonder if the sizes were listed on this?
