Re: MCU
lol. Not until the RF have got them. The end of 2014 was the allotted date, but who knows?
I saw the q guys on Thursday bagging up alot of DPM gear that was being sent away to TF units. Packs, bivy bags, wet weathers and uniforms etc.
The second to last RF basic will be the first to be issued the new uniforms.

Re: MCU
Didnt get a real good picture of it, its a funny materail thats like a softshell but without the fleece. Got a bit of stretch in it, layout is ok. Not as bulky and complicated as the DPM opne. The way the sizing went is you were in PT kit, started at one end and were layered up till you got to the end, wearing everything.

Re: MCU
I havent seen an Aussie one up close but Im guessing its along the same lines. I did like the fleece, but I reckon itll be a bit too warm under the smock.
The boonie hat was ok, wasnt flashed up with any weird crap, although it did have an internal pocket in the top of the hat, no neck bib. However they were the UN blue sizing stock so could be different when issued.
Heres the kicker, some may have it Apr, but wont be allowed to use it till June

Re: MCU
Not sure but Soldiers 5 said that TAD instructors were trialing them. 50 pairs of Tussock boots are coming out soon so the Bde can have a look. Going to be sent to units for the feel good factor. I think they are just brown KCBs.

Re: MCU
I trialed both types of new KCB's.
The Paratec is like a Magnum, was uncomfortable and is a "camp" only boot.
The ECW KCB is a good comfortable boot, I was in the river taking a lesson for about a hour and didn't get wet feet.
The only downfall is the boot is farkin ugly!!

Re: MCU
ECW, These boots are good. Didn't need to break them in, wore them straight from the box.
Paratech, light, very stiff heel, wore them for about a month. While not bad they are not that good either.
lol excuse the dust have been sitting in the garage for a while...

Re: MCU
The skin isnt as bad as I thought. Bit like the USMC RAT boot. Still they will be obsolete once the MCU comes in, unless a brwon version is coming.
