Thank you Ronny,
Have been squirrelling these things away for a couple of years, and finally found time to take

Very happy to share ....

Re: NWU III utilities
Ooo... I'll pay you $5 bazillion for all these items so I can go play Airsoft with them!! Never mind that in a couple of months the issued kit will be down to $80 a set, $40 for used. I've got the attention span of a gnat and the spending habits of a drunken sailor with 5 minutes left of leave and not been laid yet.
Or I would say that if I was an Airsoft nutter

Re: NWU III utilities
Seriously, that's great stuff! I'm patiently waiting for my friend in the Navy to get his set so I can have it
I know the earlier, GENUINE, AOR stuff will continue to appreciate in value. It's just crazy to see what people are paying for the first issue NWU III things because the seller puts AOR-2 in the title or description. They will soon be cheap, cheap, cheap as issuing is now (apparently) in full swing this summer.

I am not so certain this stuff will ever be really cheap. Certainly not so for the more high speed stuff.
Especially if the powers that be decide that our armed forces once more will be issued a limited number of working uniforms.
Thankfully I did not have to shell out the insane numbers I have been seeing on sheepbay for this stuff, or else my NWU collection would be not existing as it does now.

The fact that that first set is Seabees is pretty rad. I suspect, in time-- those'll fetch a bit more.

Probably so, but that was not the always the case , and is really not the case at the present time.. The blouses without the Seabee pocket patches were( are) considered more
desirable due to possible ( probable ) SNW connections.
At this time there really is a relatively small number of people authorized to wear NWU III, and an even smaller number of people authorized to wear NWU II.

Re: NWU III utilities
Seabees stuff, in older forms, hasn't really attracted higher prices from my experience. Though that is more anecdotal than a dedicated US collector might know about.
I do think these uniforms will become MUCH cheaper. They are due to be standard issue. I don't care what we hear about the proposed joint uniform because it's years away from happening, if it ever does happen. Sure, if we only have 5 years of production vs. 25 things will be different far down the road. But in the near term these uniforms will become as cheap as current NWU.
At least for the issue stuff. The special purpose and exotic cold/wet weather stuff will of course fetch higher prices. Obviously the older (and true) AOR stuff will continue to be worth quite a bit as well. But once there's a few hundreds of thousands of the regular items are made, the prices will come way down.
I remember people paying $250 for a set of MARPAT desert. Which was significantly before the crazed Airsofters were around. Then within a year you could get a used set for $25 and sometimes, if you were lucky, an unissued set for under $50.
Of course I could be wrong, but I'll happily wait to see if I am or not

Hey Steve,
You have made some excellent points. I hope we do see a drastic drop in price for NUW issue uniform items. Mostly because I want more !! Especially if later issue will differ
from the original issue.
If it is decided that the armed forces should share more common patterns, and thus reduce the numbers of patterns now issued, it would be a good thing, in my opinion.
I can think of 3 patterns, maybe even 5 that are not essential. Without getting into a long discussion on why, I think 3, or 4 patterns are sufficient. Perhaps solid color(s)
should be considered as well.
Certainly, it would be years before any real changes could be implemented, and I am certain stocks of uniforms in the system would have to be exhausted, and most likely issued
simultaneously with any future uniform pattern(s). Special troops will either embrace the new uniforms , of hang onto the outgoing uniforms until the bitter end , as they did
when the M81s replaced the much loved so called RDF ERDL and the olive ripstop combat uniforms.
Of course, all of this is speculation...But I am certain we will find out.

Re: NWU III utilities
Having an early example is always a good idea. Very often there is some sort of change in the first year or two after large scale complaints are logged I have a first run Multicam ACU and they changed some stuff with the second run. Though I've not bothered to figure out what.

Re: NWU III utilities
Hey all,
These are NWU III FROG ( Fire Resistant Organizational Gear ) trousers.
They are made exactly like FROG Marpat trousers, both Woodland and Desert patterned.
Great rugged gear, more rugged than the standard issue garrison trousers, which are pretty
damn rugged .
This particular pair is blessed with many ACE logos interspersed throughout the pattern.

Re: NWU III utilities
I got an unusual NWU Type 3 maternity top in a Goodwill today.
It doesn't have the normal NWU Type 3's elbow reinforcements, bellow pockets, velcro collar closure, or arm pockets.
For that matter, it also has no velcro anywhere but the rank slip tab.
There's also a set of waist adjustment tabs on both sides.
There is no evidence of it having been modified. The pockets close with buttons and have no evidence of the internal velcro tab.
The contractor info and tags are perfectly normal. The Contract Number string also matches the contract number string of some normal NWU Type 3's I have.
It's like an NWU Type 1 with no arm pockets and in AOR2.

Re: NWU III utilities
This is new to me.
Have seen Maternity trousers, with frontal stretch panels, but have not blouses before.
Blouse, Maternity, Working, US NAVY, Type III, Wow, I guess those are needed as well..
Have not seen take up tab on any other NWU blouses, they are probably meant to be adjusted as pregnancies progress.
Absence of Velcro is weird...
Thanks for posting..
