I just got this off eBay for about 15 dollars. To me it looked like a reproduction of an early 1800s era military uniform (short, fish tale end and a tall neck) or something based on the design. When it arrived I saw that it was much older than I anticipated, the interior lining looks pre WWII cotton. The buttons say "Tuskegee N & Institute" on the face and "Wm C. Roland Phila PA" on the reverse. After a bit of searching it appears that Wm. Roland some sort of company that was in business between 1909 and 1935 and made buttons that were used by military institutes. However I can't find anything on the actual jacket itself.
I'm not sure if it is military or what perhaps during that era the Tuskegee institute had some sort of military academy or something like that. Anyone have any ideas?
