Nice! It's probable you can get the missing unit badge off of German eBay. The trick is to know which one is correct for this specific jacket based on stitch outline and age.

LW squadron badging isn't my area of expertise, but looking around I did find this one that appears to be good for your jacket:
Lufttransportgeschwader 62
http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lufttransportgeschwader_62
Keep in mind that these jackets were in use LONG after they were manufactured. So it's not incorrect to have a newer unit or badge version on an older jacket.
Coincidentally, this discussion is going on now and relevant to you:

Sorta scratch that! The badge I just posted is the latest one. You'd need to find one with "FFS S" at the top, I think.
The shape of yours is pretty distinctive so that should be easy to rule out tons of possibilities. As for the age, here's an example of the backing of one that looks pretty certain to be of 1960s vintage:
http://www.ebay.de/itm/altes-Staffel-Abzeichen-Wappen-Lufttransportgeschwader-LTG-62-Hohn-60iger-Jahr-/390651875682?pt=Militaria&hash=item5af4aa9162
Used would be the best option for you, but if you are patient you can age a new badge through repeated washings, leaving it out in the sun, maybe even driving over it with your car a few times
Here's another place to start your search:
http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liste_der_Wappen_der_Luftwaffe_der_Bundeswehr
From there I found a couple of candidates:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jagdbombergeschwader_31
http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waffenschule_der_Luftwaffe

Again Steve,many thanks.
Regarding the other forum was convinced I had joined a before just to see the pics etc but had forgotten my username and password and remember trying all sorts of combinations etc with no luck. Just tried now to login and my username and password are saved!!!!!!!!!
No idea what my password is though as it was blanked out.
Is it worth me posting my jacket on there,am a member of too many forums as it is and they take up a lot of time so not really sure.

Re: Luftwaffe Grey Leather Jacket-1963.
People LOVE to see varieties of interesting items like this. There's often some small details that can only be noticed when there's a larger sample. It's when people post multiple pictures of something that's bog standard that there's yawns to be heard
