--Civilian Camo, by Andro. I read that these were produced by an SADF shell company, and that the pattern is a single screen from one of the SA patterns, but I have nothing to compare it with.:

Civilian Camo, by Andro. I read that these were produced by an SADF shell company, and that the pattern is a single screen from one of the SA patterns. I have never heard that about the Adro urban but i do like the pattern wouldn't mind a set. I have a pair of the current SAPS blue combat trousers but the buggers are too small for me photo to follow.

Hey, Graham-- have you yet ordered from James, over at SAM? He's got two pair of SAPD trousers in blue that are "size 107-81, 109cm waist and 79cm inseam, Marburg Manufacturers, 1985." Even if they're too big, it'd be worth having them taken in.

$15.00 US, each-- and he deals in GBP's anyway. Supercool guy, decent prices, and a lot of good stuff that's hard to find, in the US at least.

As far as the Andro stuff, I'm not sure where to get it. I found my at a thrift store. Doesn't seem to be that rare, though.

    Hi Dan
Here are a couple of photos of the SAPS trousers that I have as you can see from the label they are dated 2009/10 they dont have a dressing pocket on the front but they do have a small pocket next to the cargo pocket as you can see from the second image I don't know what its intended use is tho. as I said their 82/79 size is too small for me alltho the ones James has would fit my waist they would be too short as im a 103/84

Doesn't look like they changed too much in 20 years. I actually didn't know that the small pocket was intended for a dressing; always thought that they were vestigial watch-pockets hailing back to WWI styling. Makes good sense, though.

The smaller one on the hip *looks* like it's for a flashlight, but I suppose it'd hold a baton as well, though it could be something very specialized~ like those dagger pockets on your old WWII trousers.

I dunno'-- I just love the fact that they're tough, comfortable, functional, and come in that shade of blue. And Gap & Abercrombie haven't nicked the pattern, yet... though I 'm sure they will.

    Good talking again, Graham.

    Cheers!

And... I'm an idiot. I keep thinking that Adro is "Andro."

Just found one of their Rhodesian-copy bush hats today. Will post later.
