Hello I just acquired a WWI helmet for my collection but the problem is the liner is missing three of the pads, I have them but the leather has torn off of it. now I'm pretty new to this (even though I have about 50 pieces) should I look into repairing the leather or leave as is?

What I would do is ask helmet collectors that specialize on WWI helmets. Get some guidance on them if repairing or letting it be is the best option. There are a few on this forum that might help.
Personally, I tend to leave my stuff "as is". But if I had another helmet, that wasn't as interesting but has a better liner, I might explore swapping.
