    I got this from a guy that was just over in A-stan in 2009, he said that they only used this patch for a short time, and they had to switch the design. So he had a whole pile of these and I snagged one.

    The SPC ranks are probably just a mix up from different manufacterers. Odd I must admit, but I've seen it before with unit patches. US made though.

    Hey Cleaver!
    Nice finds! The Army one is definitly theatre made but I do not think those Marine ones are though. I saw a bunch of them at Camp Lejeune when I went and they were US made. I have yet to see a single MARPAT theatre made tape. They just make them different from the regular tapes.

    I honestly have never seen that type before but just by the quality it's US made. I suppose it's another manufacterer. Ethier that or an early one.

    hahaha....love the A-2/1 Patch. Them Night Hawks rule!! In case you're wondering, the 4 letter 'words' in the diamond are the 4 letter ICAO identifiers for the 4 main airports that the Night Hawks flew to on a more than regular basis.
    ORSH is the starting point for all Night Hawk flights, Al Sahra aka COB Speicher near the city of Tikrit.
    ORTF is Tal Afar.
    ORBM is Mosul.
    ORKK is Kirkuk.

    I could bore you to tears with the meaning and symbolizing of that patch since I'm the one who designed it, but I wont. lol

    hahaha....love the A-2/1 Patch. Them Night Hawks rule!! In case you're wondering, the 4 letter 'words' in the diamond are the 4 letter ICAO identifiers for the 4 main airports that the Night Hawks flew to on a more than regular basis.
    ORSH is the starting point for all Night Hawk flights, Al Sahra aka COB Speicher near the city of Tikrit.
    ORTF is Tal Afar.
    ORBM is Mosul.
    ORKK is Kirkuk.

    I could bore you to tears with the meaning and symbolizing of that patch since I'm the one who designed it, but I wont. lol
