Had the opportunity to bag this curiosity the other day, looks as if its based on an NI pack but modded for purpose.

I'm not sure what I make of it yet really, Ive never really liked the idea of an all in one integrated kit because in my trade (ambulance driver for medics) there's always a lot of putting on and taking off kit in quick succession, and i don't know how simple it would be in a hurry, but i'm open minded and will reserve judgement until Ive had a play!

Afterthought - I do like the idea of the soft webbing pouches which can be rolled up, but my immediate thought would be when theyre full are they going to be as secure as say a PLCE pouch or osprey pouch on the under armour platform?

Brilliant! I've heard that a few times from my other half also... Smile Did you get issued the Bergan or private purchase? I don't know a lot about issued Bergans but it seems there are a few which seem to be issued...is the above picture, the Virtus Bergan, is this an all encompassing one to replace the ones at the top of the thread or just another one issued?

    Apparently that's the daysack!
According to the official blurbs. There are two daysacks.A normal 40ltr and a commanders 45 ltr.
    The bergen is 90 ltr's.
Still haven't seen them apart from in Soldier magazine and the pics of that bloke above.

First pics I have seen of all the new packs.Love to get my hands on the pamphlet that comes with the system as i have a gazillion questions as to how it all integrates/works etc.
Maybe we should open a separate thread just for VIRTUS but i would say we are a while out from the first stuff going surplus etc.

2010, I wonder if that's when the contract was signed rather than the manufacturering date? Would have thought these would have been made 2014/2015?
