Having thought about this some more, I don't recall any evidence that this particular pattern was ever a real trials item. As stated above, it was more likely a commercial product.

There have been references above to the Tanzanian pattern. Does anyone have evidence-based sources to explain that back-story on that?

@Andrew, if you mean the Canadian Mk. II uniforms in the lighter DPM pattern being used in Tanzania, examples have been found in Southern Africa following the Kagera War, and the SADF Recces even made a sterile copy of the exact same uniform. Though, I don't have any official government references to them being provided by the Canadian gov't to the Tanzanian government.

Also, this parka got listed recently, is this possibly something that was issued or just a private purchase thing?

These were manufactured in Calgary specifically for the British Army Training Unit Suffield in Alberta, supposedly there was a detachable fur trim for the hood. Of the two I have only one is fitted with a zip for attaching this mythical item, which I've yet to find, although I'm not sure if it was factory fitted or unit tailor addition, as the least used of my two is without it and has no evidence of having ever had the zip for attaching said trim.

All the examples I've come across so far also only seem to be in a size large so not sure if they just went with a contract for one size fits none or if they made them in other sizes as-well. As they were area specific and have no NSN's or other details outside of the CALBERTA manufacturers name not sure where to find out details on these either.
