Very interesting piece, never seen a custom combo of butan and SMK together. Must have been modified with whatever they had on hand.

That's a fun find! Now that I think of it, I'm surprised we don't see more of this from early Russian pieces. For all of the corruption, disruption, and lack of concern Russia suffered in the early 1990s their uniforms remained fairly consistent in this respect. VSR color control was obviously not very consistent
