OK...a few years ago, I was lucky enough to win a bunch of auction lots from this one fellow, who seemingly had a warehouse full of Soviet stuff & almost all of it was used in Afghanistan...so here they are...

here is a nice & extremely greasy winter field coat...

These are very interesting, this is one subject you dont see too much about in regards to Soviet Forces.

a Lt. Colonel set I won for around $10-12, it came with a shirt & tie & visor cap...

Nice Soviet duds!

My friend's dad has a Soviet cap he picked up in Turkey back in the early 90s that he said used to reek of vodka because he's pretty sure the troops used the hat to sneak "beverage" in and out of wherever they were posted and seemed to have broken a bottle or two. lol!

Geeze! Nice bunch of stuff! My only big win was a bunch of smelly, used/abused tunics in small sizes without much badging. I don't even know how to get rid of them!

I would love to have full Spetsnaz uniform with AK chest rig, stripe shirt under, boots, etc.... It would make a killer mannequin. Sadly, Afghanistan era Soviet is too hard to find because of its short in length of conflict.

It went on for about 9 years...so there is stuff out there...but it is getting really costly & the stuff is so grimy, greasy & dirty that most of it probably disintegrated lol!

May have posted this before, but here's a pic of a 33 rpm record album, set consisted of 4 albums and were songs sung by afghan vets about the war. This came out in Leningrad in 88. The front pic of a vdv patrol is outstanding. Music's pretty good. A couple of the songs even have sounds of a firefight incorporated into them!
