    I recently received a bunch of uniforms and found some coins inside one of them, which prompted me to think what kind of stuff people find inside their uniforms.

    Some stuff i found in the past includes, pens, pins, badges, patches, telephone chip card, paper, id's, rings, money(dollar bills and 5$ dollar bills), sunglasses, dirt, coins, whistle blower, pills, etc.

    Once in a flea market i bought a BDU uniform for $3 and found 5$ inside!! hahaha made 2 bucks on that uniform!

    anyway just curious to see what kind of stuff you guys have found

    i usally find the cleaners tags in them and papers and some times patches and badges and also found matches in one but thats about it

    pins, patches, badges, pens, pencils, money, notebooks, blousing straps, ear plugs, ammo, matches.. The usual stuff.. Some of my favorites were a shopping list and the reciept and change from a guy's last trip to the PX in 45, a bus ticket home dated 45, a girl's phone number and address in Paris, and a condom used as the stiffener in the front of a USN flat hat. Last week, going thru some of the uniforms I got down at Ft Knox, I found a non-child proof Bic lighter(chocolate chip 1st Cav jacket), and a military issue 9 volt battery in another shirt. I once found a Snickers bar in a DCU. I find a lot of stuff in ammo pouches and buttpacks too.. One ammo pouch had a bag of carmel bullseyes.. Another had atripine injectors. You never know what you'll find.

    CRAP...I guess I am extremely unlucky...out of my hundreds of uniforms, I have ONLY found some sand...and that was/is in my GROM jumpsuit used in Iraq, and some weird rock things found in the pocket of a unissued set of Kuwati National Guard camo... and here they are...

    This is an excellent question. I have found numerous items in the pockets. I've found coins, addressed envelopes, USED handkerchiefs, candy wrappers, cotton balls, USED band-aids, pieces of shrapnel, pistachio shells, pens, etc.

    Some of the most interesting finds I have come across have been from uniforms from the two current wars the US has been involved in. I have found an ID card, a terrorist wanted list and map taped together, a roll of 550 cord tied together to make a noose, a rosary, used phone cards, a ratty and tattered US flag (personal size), an Iraqi Dinar (gave it to Andrew) etc.

    Personally.....I think going through the pockets is half the fun of collecting. Please keep the stories coming!!!!!

    I found a vario disky (a 3-D german puzzle)inside of the Grenade pouch in an ELBV. Im assume some guy was bored on sentry duty and threw that in his grenade pouch. I still havent solved it, my girlfriend really loves it though

    My two most interesting finds:

    1. Live 5.56 round in a British DPM smock, airmailed all the way from UK - shows how good customs/security is...

    2. A USB memory stick in a USAF ABU jacket, has Falconview software, flight plans, mission orders, maps, terrain data emails, ALL from Afghanistan. Not very good OPSEC...

    My friend once found a silk map of Vietnam, hidden in the back portion of a Vietnam issue Australian pack.

    I found 10 bucks in a jacket that I payed 5. That's it, when I get jackets the surplus store I go to usually cleans them out and send them threw the wash.

    Unless they could find who left it in the uniform. (With left-behind mission orders, terrain data emails, etc, it wouldn't be too hard to trace their origins, based on those involved or senders/receivers of messages.)
    And you could always not use a return address, then all they'd know was that it came from Australia but not know who from. Laughing

    Earplugs! thats it so far. And the patch on the right is Serbian. Bosnian Serb Republic VSR (BPC on the patch) to be exact. Strange color though. Never seen that one before.

    just went threw a bunch of marine Marpat uniforms and found a label in one of the pockets which tells the guys name his division his blood type and other stuff I will take pictures of it soon

    In the last DPM windproof I got off eBay, I felt a lump in the pocket and opened it to find a vintage British Army Air Corps badge.

    I've found chapstick in a BDU, sand in my captured Iraqi gas mask, various peices of receipts, candy bar wrappers, etc, and the original patches to my CU in the CU pocket!
