My new displays pieces Empty My new displays pieces

Post by HoovieDude Sat Apr 10, 2010 4:50 pm

I have had much of my personal kit stored away for years. Since I recently started to get serious about collecting, I thought it would be neat to display much of it, along with my other " love me" mementos, souveniers and paraphernalia. So, I have been spending my day off, pulling stuff out, and putting together some displays, etc..

Hopefully, one day my kiddos appreciate all "my junk"..

My Desert Storm Kpot, PC's, Stetson, and a couple of bring back Iraqi helmets. I hope it is okay to show them here, since they are integral to my collection? One from Desert Storm, and the camo lid from OIF. It was worn by one of my Iraqi Commandos.

Thanks Paul. The first pic, that is the kevlar " spall vest" or chicken vest as we called it. Supposed to protect crewman from spalling or splinters inside the vehicle when it is hit. Wish it was a cooling vest instead myself, but never saw such a creature for the Brads. Thought it was only on the tanks?

The boots weren't USMC, but normal GI issue variety, with aftermarket ripple soles added before deploying. Most of my boots had those soles put on, whether they were the full leather, green jungles, or deserts. Much more comfy to me, when doing alot of humping.

Thanks Arch. Most of us had a few of them done up before we deployed. With mine, some were left with the lower pockets on, such as this one, and others without. Some were left stock, for times when others, like big brass, might be around, lol.

I just realized that the pics aren't fully showing. They are cut off. Is there a size limit or such on the board? Did I not read something right? Took it for granted that the software would automatically compress the size Embarassed

Yeah, most of the time you have to resize them yourself. It's not cool, but them's the rules. pale
