Over here they generally go for at least £100++, unless of course I get lucky and get a bargain too

Re: THE HELMET THREAD
Rokkin! I had no idea that jigsaw persisted into recent use. Mine is from '58. Looks about the same (though I am sure that there are subtle differences).

Re: THE HELMET THREAD
hi sh4pak your 58 issue sounds like the 1st jigsaw pattern ,the 2nd came out at the end of the 1980's and the 3rd pattern came out in the late 1990's my cover is dated 1994 cheers james

Thanks, James. I know that I *could* have looked all of that up, but your short & sweet version is much-appreciated. =]

Re: THE HELMET THREAD
James,
I'm sorry for not specifying that I was *just* talking about the pattern, and not covers, necessarily. I'm guessing that the cut on the older helmet covers was entirely different, and I cannot supply you with photos of that-- *but*-- here's the pattern on a pair of trousers:
I apologize for deviating from the context of the thread-- but I do hope that this helps.

Re: THE HELMET THREAD
Dr. Gulf; I think there are no differences between German or Danish issued Schubert helmets from the early to mid 90's.
The 826's were issued to the Danes in relatively limited quantaties and to meet a very specific need (the peacekeeping UN missions in the Balkans), before the Danes went with MSA Gallet helmets from 1996.
So it would have been a relatively unmodified 826 that the Danish MoD decided on from the German contractor; my blue-sprayed Danish helmet from 94' has nothing but German marks like yours.
Hope this helped in any way...

At last managed to get one of these covers. No label or markings at all and note seam only running down one side of the cover.

Re: THE HELMET THREAD
Rich that's another variation of the Choc Chip "Saudi covers" I have not seen before, I have a few of these covers stashed away for prosperity now.
And of course the million dollar question...does it have any stamps / markings etc

Hi Rich,Yes I have two, and traded two off.
I did not think there were any stamps or marks ,as I guessed you would have shown them already, I am beginning to think there are not any versions out there with markings.
The mystique of these continues?????
