I have had this shirt in my collection since 1995. It is an Israeli camouflage shirt, but I have only seen two other shirts like this in all my years of collecting. Does anyone have any idea who used these shirts? Any idea of what time period? Thanks in advance!

A size tag only. Size 40 and some other Hebrew writing.

I seem to recall the Israeli helmets had covers made in this pattern.

Beautiful shirt arch.
I think they were issued to troops in the early 70's, but they don't look to be that old.
Still is definitely israeli shirt.
great item
cheers

Somewhere on this forum are pictures of Israelis wearing this pattern, but the pictures are of low quality.
Nice finds, both of you guys!

I had read somewhere that these MAY have been used on the Entebbe Raid in Uganda. Has anyone heard this before?

Does anybody have any more information regarding this pattern? Not to gloat but I the guys working on the militaria show are really interested and kind of need more info regarding it before making a decision.

Unfortunately, there is little to no information about this pattern shirt. It is an EXTREMELY rare pattern and I know of 4 in existence. We have nothing concrete about this shirt other than it was made in Israel. Every other assertion is pure specualtion.

The first thought I had when I saw it was either made for the Entebbe Raid or it's for clandestine operations outside of Isreal itself. Whether for use in Lebanon or Africa would be anyones guess.

Did that lighter coloured left-hand shirt come from a Thai seller? I remember seeing it but it didn't twig that it might have been Israeli ... good score!

My guess would be that it was made for covert operations to emulate one of the vertical lizard pattern the Syrians and Egyptians were wearing in the 1970/80s.

Matching pants ?
An associate of mine did a lot of backpacking in his university days during the early '80s. On one of many trips he sojourned through Israel and picked up these. Going through different countries he collected camo like other people collected postcards or teaspoons. I'm not even sure whether he still has these but I managed to get a picture of it back then ...
Unfortunately all I have is this picture, so don't bother asking about tags, stamps, or material composition or weight
But at least you might have been interested to know that pants DID indeed exist in this pattern!

I just found these photos on the international movie weapons database. They are from a French film entitled "Pour Sacha", they are supposed to be Syrian soldiers facing off against Israeli paratroopers, I think their uniforms look familiar.

I just got my hands on one, it seems almost identical to all of the other dark colored shirts here. Mine seems to show some pretty obvious wear, though. Note on the back where the ink seems to have run out.

Update: He indeed still had them and ended up gifting them to me to clear wardrobe space! I will take updated pics in due course as these ones are 30 years old!
