To trade or not to trade Empty To trade or not to trade

    Howdy

I came here with the intention of building up my collection of non-US milsurp camo, and getting rid of some milsurp uniforms that I no longer need.

I figured that my trade terms were pretty good, as my thoughts were that some member who didn't live in the United States could go visit their local surplus shop and spend 2€ or 3€ on some dirt-cheap (in their area) milsurp camouflage uniforms and could get a good trade for my stuff (instead of spending 15€ or 30€ in cash). I was thinking this would benefit everyone involved (Giovanni / Heinz / Pierre / Ivan buys cheap [for them] camo uniform(s) and trade straight up for expensive [for them] US stuff)

Is my thinking weird, or does everyone already have what I'm trading?

Are my trade terms hard to understand? I can rewrite them if necessary.

I have a LOT more to trade/sell (but didn't want to dump it all here at once), but if this isn't the place to trade, I'll just put them all on ebay.

I think that the Canadian shirts were not a bad price, a little high for something so common, but not too bad. The MARPAT set on the other hand was pretty overprice IMHO, I can get a set in good condition for $30 and they are fairly common.

The things you wanted in trade were not unreasonable at all, some of the more specialized items you would be hard pressed to find people willing to do a straight trade for, but asking random international camo is not a bad at all.

You also have to remember that you are a fairly new user, the economy is fairly bad right now, we dont have an enormous user base, the items you were listing are more on the common side, it hasnt even been a month since you posted them, and a lot of our users collect specialized things be it a specific country, or things used in specific conflicts.

Give it time, I think that is the biggest thing...if you are looking to make a quick flip, I dont think this is the place to post it.

Trading is also a fairly slow business in and of itself. If you are looking for something specific, put it up in the wanted section and more than likely, someone will have it or know someone who does. You will be more likely to find someone willing to sell than to trade, money talks.

The point is that I'd rather trade than sell.

Yes, I thought that including the "Especially looking for" stuff might confuse some. Those aren't what I'm looking for for in a straight trade (or would trade + pay money)

. . but I didn't want to list "German flectarn, British DPM, etc" or other "Buy-it-at-Sportsmans-Guide-for-$10" patterns.

I am a disabled vet and have a very limited income. My thoughts were to trade for stuff I wanted w/o spending anything but postage.

I think you will find someone willing to do a straight trade eventually, but it would take a while if it was going to happen at all. Trading is all a waiting game..I have experimental stuff that I have had up for trade for a couple of years now and nobody has taken a bite yet.

Trust me Europe is much more expensive than the US.
