    Hey guys,

its me again, maybe you can help me with this one :

It's made in traditional M88 Afghanka cut, and looks just like normal VSR, beside one fact:
    Pure blockyness!

Sorry for the big picture, I hope it helps to notice all details!

Thank you panzerwerk, if you are interested in seeing pictures of the full uniform I can take some more.
Also, does anyone recognize the factory logo? Looks like a diving-helmet or a shield with an emblem on it.

I think I got quite lucky with the size, normally such unique pieces are in 46-2 or other midget sizes! Very Happy

    Hello Kolja,

It looks like this uniform was produced by the Savinskaya factory, most likely in Russia. I have never seen this blocky VSR pattern before. It is very nice.

Thank you for showing your uniforms. You have some very unique items!

    Hey,

your welcome, it's always nice to talk to other collectors, since they don't treat these uniforms as an ordinary piece of cloth. Wink
Plus the amount of rare uniforms in addition to a huge amount of knowledge can't be found on airsoft boards.

I will post at least two more uniforms when I'm back home, did you see my other identification request?

Maybe you have some ideas on this one, too. Smile

    Kolja,

    Very nice stuff!

It is interesting that you have so many diverse, unknown Soviet/Russian/"Stan" jackets in your collection! I am curious how you found so many? Did you get many of them from a single contact?

    Cheers,

    Steve

    Hey Steve,

    thank you very much!

I'm focusing on the late Soviet Union and early Russian federation, I think that is the reason why I have some interesting pieces of this era.

But there are collectors on here who beat me by far on this field! That makes this episode so interesting for me, there are tons of different camouflage pattern and uniforms, and you cannot have them all, so it never gets boring! Wink

I really appreciate that a professional collector like you shows interest for my small closet filled with uniforms. Smile

And no, these aren't from the same seller, but came to me from all over the world.

Please check out my updates in the Russian/Ukraine and Unidentified items section, I posted some more pieces. Smile

    Kind Regards,
    Kolja

    Kolja,

Here is my 2 cents. This is my opinion based on collecting experience - I do not pretend to be an expert on uniforms issued in the post soviet 1990’s .

It seems that there was a lot of experimenting with various uniform styles and camo patterns after the fall of the Soviet Union. This experimentation resulted in a great deal of uniform and camo variations in the early 1990’s throughout the former republics.

This included many more camo patterns and color variations than occurred during Soviet times. Many of the variant uniforms were made in the Ukraine (with factory stamps and OTK marks) for export (“Elephant factories”). There are also uniforms that have no marks or just simple size tags. Some uniforms are made using the standard Soviet 4 and 6 pocket uniform styles, while others are more simply constructed with exposed buttons and patch style pockets.

Here are examples of some non-standard uniforms:
    https://iacmc.forumotion.com/t1733-non-standard-russian-uniforms

You have some very nice variants that I have not seen before. I do not know to whom or if they were issued. 1990’s uniform development in the former republics was pretty confusing to say the least!

Here is another unusual pattern (guy on far right):

Hope this helps some. I will keep an eye out for photos with your variant patterns in use.

Very nice collection that you have!

    Hey Erick,

thank you for writing down your opinion on that topic!

I agree that these pattern arose out of the experimentation phase during the early nineties.

Together with a collectors friend from Holland I discussed the topic of the Elephant factories being an exporter for uniforms, too.
We both agreed that this was the fact.

Named collector (michelwijnand on Red-Alliance forum) owns trousers in the camouflage pattern of the uniform which the far right guy is wearing.

Most likely its from 90's Kazakhstan.

Also, here is another picture of a suit like this :

Again I can say that I really appreciate you help!
I've seen your collection of soviet uniforms before, you have tons of awesome pieces! I hope one time I'll get things like (another) SMK suit, Soviet BiColor and Tropical KLMK in my hands, too.

    Cheers,
    Kolja
