I agree with sargei think this is post nam ERDL, very early, but post war. I also think patches are put together, since the wings are the original nam issued, but both the pathfinder and rangers tabs are 80's issued... still very shinny compared to name tape and wings.

I have never seeing a nam issued erdl in this color scheme, we are always learning new things, so in case im wrong i apologize and would love to see any evidence of this version of erdl actually in use in nam...

I had one, years ago-- and I know this only because I know it was RDF.: HEAVY on the kahki, and not brown-dom. Had a USMC stencil on it, too-- but was def. a slant-pocket. Can't produce proof for you, because it is a long-gone thing-- and in the context of this discussion, it is totally irrelevant, but at least one existed, at one point. =]

You watch,after saying that,when i eventually stumble accross my jacket that it will be dated 1978 or 1979

A guy in the thread says he was compelled to buy his in '76. Odds are it was manufactured before then. Apparently not RDF. I was mistaken.

That will be 68 or later dated .
But NO later than 71 .

Many people thought brown dominated ERDLs are RDF....

And, conversely, I also believed that certain RDF was brown ERDL. I think I got it sorted now, tho'...

RDF .........has emerald green in it .

All ERDL does not.

Black shapes in RDF never appear in ERDL to the same scale.

Hi Gulf, i never doubted the authenticity of the jacket, just wasn't sure about the date. But i do recognize that it is correct, there were ERDL uniforms in this print as well during that time. You have a really neat jacket there
And yes this erdl coloration is also known as "Highlands"

No probs,still havent found the dammn thing as it would be nice to find out once and for all what date is on it,if it still has its label

Yipeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee,found folded up at the bottom or a wardrobe under a ton of other crap.

Dated 1969 and with regards to the patches-just checked and all machine sewn with what looks to be all the same matching thread so who knows-either way,I like it.
