You guys are g oing to hate me

While trying to find the other ERDL jkt i looked in a kitbag where most of my Nam era clothing is and,yep you guessed it,couldnt find the other jacket BUT did to my amazement find this one.

I say amazement as i have no recollection at all of buying this,dont know where or when and was quite surprised to see it.

Like the other jacket,original or not all the insignia was on when bought.

This one thankfully still has its label and is dated 1970.

Nice brown dom erdl.

With a post nam scrole .

No rdf erdl was ever made with slant pockets ......but plenty of nam cloth was made with rdf cut .

Isnt that what i said regarding the other Erdl jacket i have in another thread yet some people are still claiming it to be post Nam RDF

Thank You Owen,thought i was going mad for a minute there,im no authority by any way on Erdl but knew that RDF wasnt made with slant pockets.

Gulf-- I was in-error. Fully admitted to it. Maybe the photo overshadowed that.

No such thing as an "expert" on anything,many are self proclaimed experts but if i hear or see the term expert anywhere i give it/them a wide berth

True and tiny not, true real issue jackets in RDF were never slant BUT... A company called S.W.I made repro RDF with slant pockets in both ripstop and poplin and dated them all 1970. These show up sold as real and in a fashion look real to the normal eye.

I unwittingly bought a OD RDF slant pocket jacket in a poplin cloth made by SWI, mind was $5 so want burned too bad.

I guess some troops bought them from surplus stores and could have used them but they were never issued.

SWI= Shreck Wholesale International. Make all kinds of stuff. I've seen web gear and even bayonets marked with SWI. Good for fillers, but thats about it.
