PECOC Review - Please add your Patterns etc

As per the pervious thread George put up on recent PECOC releases from the Disposal Agency, Steve thought it was a good idea to have one thread where everybody can drop in their different PECOC patterns/Colours etc. I have not gone down the route of photographing all my collection as this is on the site already but captured just one garment to get the patter/colour to highlight the width of the PECOC project. Please feel free to add whatever you have...

Fantastic! We're off to a great start. We also should try to figure out what different models there are within the color styles. Some are not numbered, others have designations like "CD2". I suspect that there isn't always a matching set in any one designation, but I don't have enough data to conclude that.

I'll try to wrangle pics of mine sometime tonight.

BTW, that is the full webbing for Hybrid is your crown jewel IMHO.

Hi Steve, no not the jewel, I have a Coyote Brown set from George which is the Crown Jewels! I like the hybrid pieces but Coyote Brown I think looks nicer?! Just my personal view before anybody destroys me!! Ha ha

In your first post you posted the wrong picture. You showed the Hybrid 4 Tone (Olive/Beige/Black/Grey) twice. What's missing is the 3 Tone version. If you send me a PM with the IMG link I can hack it into your original post using my magical moderator powers (for good, not evil!)

By my count there are 13 unique patterns shown so far. I've given them nicknames to try and keep them straight. The color I chose for the nickname is that of the smallest shape since it's on all patterns, 3 and 4 color.

Desert
Standard 2 color in different hues (similar to production variations)
3 color Brown (the more prevalent alternative to 2 color)
3 color DES 5 (variation of "chocolate")
3 color Gray
3 color Orange
3 color Brown Digital

Woodland
Standard 4 color (traditional colors)
4 color Gray
4 color Green
4 color digital

Hybrid
Standard 4 color (as seen on kit)
4 color Light (one background shape is light gray instead of rust brown)
4 color Digital

Wow just studied your pics Steve, the Desert trousers are great, I wonder what the Velcro on the legs were used for or intended to be for... Never seen that before!! I really want your UBAC, this is the second one I have seen now...it would complete my set!!! Ha ha I will have to keep searching!!

My contribution: a 3-colour PECOC jacket. Fabric is the exact same as the later issue two-colour desert DPM. Up close, you can see the squares within the fabric but it's not the cheap cotton ripstop; still has the twill fabric feel of new CS95 type clothing. All velcro fixtures are black. Buttons are green Canadian style with black tape. The tag is merely a hand-written "180/104". "DES 2" is hand-written in permanent marker underneath the tag.

I moved the orange image from the separate post up to your big post, then deleted the separate one.

It appears to be a way of adjusting the knees to fight tighter. BTW, I have a spare trousers of the other type (label states it as PECOC, no secondary designation) and a CD2 desert jacket.

I really want your UBAC, this is the second one I have seen now...it would complete my set!!! Ha ha I will have to keep searching!!

I can shorten your search if you send me your Hybrid kit since you don't really like it anyway

So far I've seen 4 different types of labels:

1. Form style label with hand written information. Refers to the pattern as "Track" (similar to US camo trials in 2002)



2. Generic "PECOC" label without any secondary variant identifier.



3. "PECOC" with a sequential designation starting with "CD". I've seen it expressed as a 3 digit code (e.g. "CD2") but also as a 4 digit code (e.g. "CD06")



4. "PECOC" with two sub designations. One is "Stage", which refers to a step within the larger trials process, and "Option", which refers to a specific variant being tested for that step.



And with Ben's comments a 5th type:

5. "PECOC" label (don't know what type) with hand written designation on it. So far we've seen two of the 3 color desert (brown) ones expressed as "DES" and a number. Those two are DES 2 and DES 5.

If you guys can search through your labels to see if you have other types or variations, that would be great. At some point we should try to nail down the range of DES, CD, Track, and Stage/Option designations.

From what I can tell three uniforms were produced in large numbers:

1. 2 color desert
2. 3 color desert (brown)
3. standard woodland

There appears to be several variations of each. Here's what I have been able to verify from this thread and prior information:

Anybody have something different to add?

BTW, it seems that "Track 2146 (2)" was a more general trial which took place in 2007. The items with extremely varied colors appear to have come from this part of the trial as their labels all have "Track 2146 (2)" with no other sub designation. If anybody has something different on the labels to their oddball colored pieces, please post a picture or typed info.
